Feeding my learning needs- Part II
Apr 13th, 2008 by Mark Spahr
We had our monthly eMints technology session today. Once again we had the immeasurable skills and knowledge of Jim Moulton at our disposal. I always enjoy these sessions because they present a chance to work and collaborate with Jim and some of the teachers at my school on technology integration. In a previous post, I wrote about how I was concerned that my enthusiasm to share and collaborate might have shut out and turned off some of my colleagues to the point that they left the group.
Today, one of the teachers who had left the group came back. It was great to have her back with us. We spent most of the morning focused on her project, and Jim really helped her organize a good deal of her work into Noteshare (which may just end up being the framework for electronic portfolios at our school). The other teachers were working on their own projects but were able to pitch in ideas and tips to our colleague. I left the session feeling like we had really accomplished something. I think we found a way to get another teacher excited about using technology in the classroom and the possibilities it offers. And through all of this, I felt like my learning needs were being met too.
The morning was a true collaborative workshop. What a luxury!
