<streamofconciousness>Jenny Luca just sent a tweet saying she has a holiday in Australia tomorrow. We just had Patriot’s Day here on Monday, wonder what day April 25 is there? Remember reading her post about the usefulness of Mahalo for search, now she has a new post about Mahalo’s quick response to requests for new pages. She has requested a page at Mahalo for Anzac Day. What’s Anzac Day? Mahalo has already responded, cool! Click on the link from Jenny’s blog to Mahalo, which takes me to the Wikipedia entry for Anzac Day. Ok, Anzac Day is “is commemorated by Australia and New Zealand on 25 April every year to remember members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I.” I saw a movie once with Mel Gibson called Gallipoli. He couldn’t save everyone from dying at the end! What’s this, a link to something called an Anzac Biscuit? Food reference - Culinary Arts teacher - drawn like moth to flames - must check out! Click on Anzac Biscuit. Its “a snack food most commonly made from the primary ingredients of rolled oats, coconut, and golden syrup.” Hmm, coconut, not my favorite ingredient, but keep reading. See this down at the bottom of the page:
Wikipedia has a cookbook?! Gotta go check this out and see if/how I could use it with my class!</streamofconciousness>
Great post Mark. Love the way you express your thinking - it’s exactly how the web works - one thing leading to another. Try an Anzac biscuit - guaranteed good taste - we love them over here!! I didn’t know about Wikibooks either - must check that out. See you on Twitter!
