ChurchPlanters.com “Giving You Permission” : Transitional to Missional Ministry
The above link is a helpful little article on missional leadership and moving towards being a missional church. What is most interesting to me, however, is the one response to the post.
CS says, “These people may be “highly spiritual,” but without God, they are also “highly [...]
Recently I spent three hours waiting to get a new driver’s license at the local Department of Motor Vehicles. It was a busy day at the DMV, but nothing out of the ordinary. There were teenagers coming in with their parents to get their learners permits, young couples with kids who had just [...]
Jesus, May I have the courage to walk with you on this road of suffering…on the road to the cross. The cross is beautiful and scandalous, horrible and wonderful, mysterious and plain. At the cross mercy and grace and forgiveness and healing were fully realized. Give me courage Jesus to walk with you…to know and [...]
I’m not sure where I stand yet on the upcoming election. It’s hard to sort through all the smoke and mirrors and figure out who as our leader might be able to actually lead us towards positive change in our country and in our position in the world. That being said, I watched this video (picked it up from Tony Jones’ blog) and started to cry. Wednesday & Thursday (Charlotte, NC) Whenever I am together with a large group of folks who are church planters I feel very much at home. There is an incredible collegial [...]
I was incredibly disturbed this evening when my wife told me that there was a “church” planning to protest at Heath Ledger’s funeral because he played a gay cowboy in a movie. I refuse to post the pastor’s name or church name on this site, but he and his followers have made it their mission [...]
Tomorrow I leave for a conference in Charlotte, NC. It should be an interesting couple of days meeting with several other new church developers from around the country. I’m looking forward to hearing stories and gaining some wisdom and insight from those who are already out there doing their thing. I will try to post [...]
I haven’t thought of this song for a long time but this week Psalm 40 was part of the lectionary readings. When I was a senior in high school U2 came to Tampa Stadium (The Sombrero baby!) on the Joshua Tree tour. It was a spiritual experience.
Today marks a new beginning at reformingChurch.com. I have tried and tried to make this site into something worthwhile and now I think I may finally have the right direction in mind. I am excited to maintain a daily (hopefully) blog as well as an eZine of sorts. I think this format will allow me [...]
