Dr. Jason Martineau – Orchestrator, The Wizdom of Oz
Jason Martineau is an award-winning composer, pianist, arranger and orchestrator active in the Bay Area since 1995. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Manhattan School of Music and has composed numerous works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo piano and chorus. Compositions include a full-length musical, multiple film scores and over 200 songs, both instrumental and vocal. Dr. Martineau orchestrated Kamala’s Hope, a choral composition by Candace Forest premiered by the San Francisco Girls Chorus at SF Jazz in 2022. He has recorded more than 12 albums in various genres and has been featured on numerous other artists’ recordings as a pianist, music director and producer.
Candace Forest – Composer/Producer
Candace Forest, musician/composer/producer based in San Francisco, composes music for solo voice, chorus, solo piano, chamber ensemble and full orchestra. Her full-length works include a modern dance score, The Wizdom of Oz; a light opera, Viva Concha! Rose of the Presidio and a symphonic family Earth Day concert, All In This Together.
Candace is a three-time winner of the Parents Choice Gold Award for her recordings with The Singing Rainbow Youth Ensemble. Her collaboration with choreographer Sarah Berges began in 2024.
Several upcoming performances are scheduled in 2026 and will include concerts featuring Trilogy for the Endangered Species, a chamber music work with dance and selections from The Wizdom of Oz.
Sarah Berges – Choreographer/Founder of Sarah Berges Dance
Sarah Berges has been creating and presenting her visionary choreography since 1984. A Berkeley native, Sarah grew up immersed in Creative Dance and Improvisation taught by Ruth Hatfield. Her Modern Dance technique and Choreography training was with Margaret Jenkins, Brenda Way, Marcia Sakamoto, Wendy Rogers, David Wood and Carol Murota.
As Artistic Director of Sarah Berges Dance, she has created groundbreaking, multidisciplinary works of dance theater that explore and reflect the human condition. “With choreography that inspires and entertains, we seek to bring the life-enhancing experience of movement to audiences, drawing them closer to dance as an expressive instrument.”
